The ingredients needed to prepare Homemade granola:
- Get 1 tsp of vanilla essence.
- Use 1/4 tsp of salt.
- Prepare 1/4 cup of honey.
- Get 1/4 cup of brown sugar.
- Get 1/4 cup of butter.
- Get 2 of and 1/4 cup rolled oats.
- Get 3/4 cup of roughly chopped almonds.
- Use 3/4 cup of sunflower seeds.
- Provide 1/2 cup of rice crispies.
- Get 1/2 cup of semi sweet or dark choc chips.
Steps to make Homemade granola:
- Lightly toast oats, sunflower seeds and almonds in oven for +-10mins, making sure to shake tray in between. Once toasted, transfer to a mixing bowl. *In a saucepan add butter, sugar and honey and melt on medium heat until sugar is dissolved. *Remove from heat and add vanilla and salt. *Add mixture to mixing bowl with oats and mix till well coated. (make sure everything is well coated) *Now add any extra ingredients that you like(i added in the rice crispies).
- Wait for mixture to cool a little before adding in your choc chips..
- Leave to harden.. Once hard u can break up bigger pieces if you like(or alternatively, pat mixture into a greased pan to make bars).
- Serve with plain yogurt and fruit.
